September 13: Peg Loom Weaving: Susannah Johnson (Bellaluna Sheep and Wool) will demonstrate weaving on a peg loom, a simple and portable device made of removable vertical pegs on a board. These are often used to weave sturdy textiles such as rugs and decorative pieces using larger wefts such as wool roving and upcycled cloth strips in addition to conventional yarns. Joan S. will also show some highlights from the Convergence 2026 fashion show and art exhibits.

This weaving challenge, due January 2027, is to produce the most diverse results from one warp. Whether you use 2, 4, 8 or more shafts: beam one warp, thread a selected draft, and sley a chosen sett. Use tie-up, treadling, and weft choices to make the most pattern, color, and texture differences possible. There is no size limit, and the finished weaving can be one or many pieces.
