This exhibition showcases the range of textiles produced by the Athena Weavers, including table linens, wearable goods, and artistic expression. The group began in April 2017 when several weavers from Athens, Georgia and surrounding areas met and formed a new community dedicated to supporting and educating each other in our common goal of improving our weaving skills. Contributing weavers include Sue Gilmurray, Sybilla Beckmann Kazez, Erika Lewis, Amalia Perry, Kathryn Schafer, Joan Sheldon, Cheryl White, Joan Yantko, and Denise Zevos.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
The Athena Weavers dedicate this exhibition to the memory of Amalia Perry, our teacher, mentor, and friend.
