The Athena Weavers are a group of weavers from Athens, Georgia, USA and surrounding areas that have formed an informal community dedicated to supporting and educating each other in our common goal of improving our weaving skills. Membership in the group is free and is gauged primarily by participation. Registration for access to members-only content on the website is limited to subscribers (in good standing) of our email group. There is no formal administrative structure, and decisions, including what constitutes acceptable use of the website, are made by consensus.
The current consensus on acceptable use of the website is:
- No spam: Comments and articles for the
website are not for commercial messages or marketing. - Mention of relevant businesses is OK within
reason: Occasional mention of weaving-related businesses in comments or
articles will not be construed as a violation of point 1 as long as they are
not part of normal marketing for a business. - We all take care of each other’s privacy:
Registered users of the website have access to members-only content, including
resources that program presenters may be developing for their own commercial
use. You agree to treat these confidentially and not share any members-only
resources outside the Athena Weavers group without explicit prior permission of
the owner of the information. - Be nice: Comments may originate from any registered
user and are not moderated prior to posting. You agree to use kind language
without profanity and to not harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
of the website. Disagreement is allowed, but debate the topic, not the person. - Stay on topic: You agree to post only comments
and articles related to weaving, guild event coordination, or guild
administrative business.
